Mr. Abu Shadat Mohammad Shahin joined IIDFC PLC as Deputy Managing Director on September 2, 2024. Subsequently, he was appointed as Managing Director (Current Charge) in the 274th meeting of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Shahin brings over 24 years of professional experience in the financial sector, having held various roles throughout his career. He began his career in August 2000 with Arab Bangladesh Bank Limited as a Probationary Officer (10th Batch) and gained experience in different departments. Before joining IIDFC, he worked for renowned private commercial banks, Arab Bangladesh (AB) Bank, BRAC Bank and Midland Bank. He also worked for IPDC and IIDFC-two leading NBFI before joining Uttara Finance as Deputy Managing Director. His extensive experience in Branch Banking, CRM, SME, Emerging Corporate, and Large Corporate business has enabled him to understand and serve the market profitably and sustainably. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards for his outstanding performance.

Mr. Shahin holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA major in Finance) from Jahangirnagar University. He has also completed an Advanced Certificate in Business Administration (ACBA) from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and the Banking Diploma (Part I & II) from The Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB). Additionally, he has attended numerous training programs, workshops, and seminars on Credit Risk, Corporate Finance, MSME Financing, Loan Structuring, International Trade, Ethical Banking, Green Financing, and Leadership, both in Bangladesh and abroad.
